Echocardiogram

Under this procedure, structure of heart and valvular activities are observed by image display through multiple-angle and directional cardiac scanning with high-frequency sound waves. With the data obtained, left and right ventricles as well as systolic and diastolic functions of the heart can be evaluated and along with diagnosis of problems concerning cardiac valves and valvular insufficiency.

Method of Examination

Electrodes are attached to examinee’s chest (with transparent gel applied on the left chest). Diagnosis is then made based on the images obtained from ultrasonic scanning.
